Xfrog to 3ds MAX 5 tutorial

In this tutorial we will provide a step-by-step explanation on how to install the Xfrog plugin for 3ds MAX 5 and import an animated lily to 3ds MAX. All files needed for this tutorial are included in the xfrog_3dsmax_plug.zip shiping with Xfrog and Xfrog libarys and can also be downloaded here. If you do not want to go through the installation process but direcly come to the point, hop on to step 2 ( Import a animated lily) or step 3 (tips and tricks). I hope you will enjoy this little tutorial.

1. Installation of the plugin and example files

Browse to the folder containing the xfrog_max_plugin.zip. Open the archive and extract the xfrog.dlo to your 3ds MAX plugin folder.

This was about it. On the next startup MAX will scan the plugin folder and regognize the plugin automatically. So we can take care of our little example file, a growing lily. First of all, we will extract all files included in the zip to a folder. i use the meshes folder in my example, you might use whatever folder you like. It is only important to remember this path, so you can add it to your material searching path later on.

Now we are done with the installation. continue to step 2
