Overview
The following chart indicates how different 3d software work together
with Xfrog and XfrogTune. For several applications, free Plugins are available
to read Xfrog files directly. Besides the Plugin solution Xfrog exports
all major 3D file formats ( as you can see below ). A dot indicates that
Xfrog or XfrogTune or XfrogPlants works for that application as mentioned.
For example, for 3ds max, Xfrog exports OBJ, 3DS, and a free Plugin that
works inside 3ds max. XfrogTune exports OBJ, and XfrogPlants are loaded
with the free Plugin.
To use XfrogPlants with applications that we do not support with Plugins,
(for example, Bryce), you simply need to use Xfrog or XfrogTune to export
to the file format you need. Export using XfrogTune works for trees, (flowers
and cacti are not supported by XfrogTune) As you can see from the chart,
for Bryce we recommend export as OBJ or 3DS from Xfrog or OBJ from XfrogTune.
All our exports, except DXF, contain texture u,v coordinates and matching
shader information, so that textures are seamlessly exported with the
models. All Plugins support Xfrog models and animations, and XfrogPlants
Libaries. By clicking on any software below, you will be taken to a page
where you can learn more about each Program, and download the Plugin if
it exists.
